Barrington girls stack up two more wins, including one in double OT
Eagles defeat North Kingstown and St. Raphael's
The Barrington High School girls basketball team picked up wins over St. Raphael’s and North Kingstown last week and improved to 13-1 in Division I standings. That record is strong enough for sole possession of first place.
The Eagles outlasted North Kingstown in a double overtime thriller, 48-45. Janaya Prince-Baquero led all Barrington scorers with 17 points, including seven in the overtime periods. Isys Dunphy had a double-double in the victory — the junior scored 14 points and ripped down 14 rebounds. Senior Maddie Gill dropped in 11 points for the Eagles.
Before knocking off the Skippers Barrington blasted the Saints. Twelve Barrington players broke into the scoring column during the Eagles’ 65-22 victory over St. Raphael’s. Dunphy led Barrington with 12 points while Olivia Morrissette finished with 10.
Barrington will face some tough competition down the stretch — the Eagles are scheduled to play against 10-4 Ponaganset and 13-2 Bay View.
On Thursday, Barrington will celebrate Senior Day with a home game against Classical.
