The Barrington High School field hockey program powered to two wins last Tuesday night, Sept. 8. The BHS varsity team defeated LaSalle, 2-1, and the BHS junior varsity won, 3-0.

In the varsity game, Barrington dominated. Eagles’ captain Shelby Gasbarro opened the scoring with a penalty stroke. That was followed by a goal from Mackenize Plourde, which was reversed by referees. Still tied at the end of the fourth quarter, Abby Griffin hit one in off an assist from Clare Capozza to finalize a 2-1 win. Reese Mancini and BHS captain Alandra Vicioso played excellent defense for the Eagles. LaSalle’s captain Ella Hyland netted the solo goal for the Rams off a penalty corner shot. Rilynn Deffley assisted.

Barrington’s JV team rolled to a 3-0 victory. Molly O'Connell started the scoring with an assist from Skyler LoVerme.  Emma LoVerme tallied two more goals into the cage off assists from O'Connell and Ella Mackley. Amelie Bruneau and Maggie Porter led a stellar defensive effort for the Eagles.
