The Barrington U12 All-Star team defeated a team from Bowling Green, Ky., 6-1, in an elimination bracket game at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 17.

The victory for Barrington followed a tough 3-0 loss to Southeast Region's South Riding, Va. on Friday morning.

Lucas Tanous led Barrington's offense with three hits against Bowling Green. Tanous hit two doubles and a single, drove in three runs, and scored a run for Barrington. Miles Fontaine also performed well at the plate, belting a big double deep into the left-field corner that scored a run. Barrington notched eight hits in the game.

Meanwhile, Owen Pfeffer pitched a complete game for Barrington. The left-hander struck out seven Kentucky batters. Barrington's defense also played well.

Barrington, which represents the New England Region, will play again on Monday against the loser of the New Jersey vs. Hawaii game. Monday's game is at 3 p.m. on ESPN.
