Westport police: Car stop leads to multiple drug charges

Monday, Feb. 17

A caller reported a disturbance on Valentine Lane at 6:28 a.m.

Callers reported wires down on Andrea Court (9:02 a.m.), Briggs Road, at Costa Lane (11:09 a.m.), and Pine Hill Road (1:41 p.m.).

Callers reported road hazards on American Legion Highway (12:12 p.m.), Drift Road (2:02 p.m.), ad Route 88 (3:19 p.m.).

Animal complaints came in from State Road at 2:08 p.m.

A West Beach Road resident reported a power outage at 5:26 p.m.

Bruno Miguel Vicente, 33, of 219 Mulberry St., Apt. 2S, Fall River, was charged with operating with a suspended license after police pulled him over on State Road at 6:53 p.m.

Police pulled 12 vehicles over over the course of the day, warning four, citing seven and arresting one.

Tuesday, Feb. 18

A 911 caller reported a road rage incident on Route 88 at 11:51 a.m.

A 911 caller reported at 2:43 that wires were down at Costa Lane and Briggs Road.

Police received seven firearms licensing requests over the course of the day.

Police pulled two vehicles over over the course of the day, warning one driver and taking no action on the other.

Wednesday, Feb. 19

A 911 caller from State Road asked for police assistance in dealing with an unwanted person at 2:13 a.m.

Animal complaints came in from Main Road at 8:44 a.m.

A 911 caller reported a road rage incident on Sanford Road, at American Legion Highway, at 8:45 p.m.

Police pulled 10 vehicles over over the course of the day — police assisted one driver, towed two vehicles, warned five drivers and cited two.

Thursday, Feb. 20

Animal complaints came in from Blossom Road at 6:41 a.m.

Police served a restraining order to an East Briggs Road resident after the subject came to the police station.

Police pulled over seven vehicles — three drivers were warned, and four cited.

Friday, Feb. 21

Animal complaints came in from Blossom Road at 7:14 a.m., and from Dionne Street at 2:29 p.m.

Police pulled over 18 vehicles over the course of the day. The assisted two drivers, warned six and cited 10.

Saturday, Feb. 22

A caller reported a road hazard on Route 88, at Hix Bridge, at 6:35 a.m.

Animal complaints came in from State Road at 7:36 a.m.

Police pulled over 16 vehicles, warning six drivers and citing 10, over the course of the day.

Sunday, Feb. 23

Christian T. Campos, 25, of 183 Tripp St., Apt. 2S, Fall River, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of psilocybin mushrooms, possession of THC concentrate, speeding in violation of special regulations, possession of an open container of alcohol, and for a marked lanes violation, after police pulled him over at State Road and Bower Avenue at 1:51 a.m.

Animal complaints came in from Main Road at 7:31 a.m.

A Drift Road resident asked police to keep the peace at 4:40 p.m.

A caller from Cornell Street complained of threats at 5:33 p.m.

Police pulled over 15 vehicles, warning five drivers, citing nine and arresting one.

He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far.
