Neighborhood Day Park Clean – Up @ Cenntral Avenue /Onna Moniz-John Park
Linden Place Museum hosts a walking tour of Linden Place Mansion and downtown Bristol focused specifically on Bristol’s DeWolf Family and its involvement in the slave trade. The guided tour begins at Linden Place, continues through the center of Bristol and down to the waterfront on Thames Street, pointing out significant sites tied to Bristol’s lengthy and profitable involvement in the slave trade. The tour ends at the DeWolf Tavern where participants will enjoy a rum cocktail and ask questions. Reservations are required.

Swing into fall with The Lindsay Adler Duo, an original, eclectic fusion of songs and instrumental music from many lands and traditions, from lively Middle Eastern rhythms to evocative melodies. Ms. Adler’s background as an environmental advocate is echoed in her music, which is inspired by nature, ancient folklore and Celtic mythology. In the event of rain, the concert will be moved indoors. Advance registration is required.

The Tobey Hospital Guild’s annual gala will feature entertainment provided by the Tune Weavers, well known for their hit, “Happy, Happy Birthday Baby.” In true doo-wop style, dancing will be optional. There will be hors d’oeuvres and dinner featuring sliced tenderloin of beef and Maryland crab cakes. Proceeds will benefit the Guild’s $100,000 pledge to purchase new patient equipment at Tobey. The event will also feature a live and silent auction.

Harvest Moon Walk @ Turner Loop Trail Parking Area
Join the Ten Mile River Watershed Council and the East Providence Land Conservation Trust for their second annual Harvest Moon Walk. You’ll walk along the Ten Mile River and Turner Reservoir under the brightest moon of the year, and visit the Newman Oak, said to be over 300 years old. The event is part of Rhode Island Land Trust Days.

The internationally renowned Canadian fiddler, singer, songwriter and step-dancer, brings her band to Common Fence Music. On the afternoon of the performance, she’ll host a beginner’s fiddle workshop co-sponsored by the Rhode Island Fiddle Project and Common Fence Music.
