    1. IQA Northeast Regional Quidditch Tournament @ Fort Adams State Park
      9:00 am – 5:00 pm

      The International Quidditch Association (IQA) is holding the Northeast Regional Quidditch Tournament at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, RI on November 17 and 18, 2012.  Teams from all over New England and New York will be converging on Newport to compete for Regional Championship and earn qualifying spots for the Quidditch World Cup.     2. Nature Sketching @ Audubon Environmental Education Center
      10:00 am – 2:00 pm

      Naturalist and artist Frances Topping will demonstrate how to use a journal/sketchbook to record and more fully engage with your surroundings and experiences. Review examples, get ideas on what and how to observe in the field and review techniques. Bring a lunch and plain notepaper or sketchbook and either a pencil, felt tip or waterproof pen. Optional items include a folding chair or something to sit on outdoors and a hand lens or magnifying glass. Students may use colored pencils or watercolor if they wish. Advance registration is required.

    3. Free Zumba(r) at the Seekonk Public Library! @ Seekonk Public Library
      10:30 am – 11:30 am

      Back by popular demand, instructor Sara Greene returns with a 4-week session for Zumba®.  Join the fun and dance off the stress of the week at the Seekonk Public Library beginning Saturday, October 27th at 10:30 am.

      This class is perfect for beginners and anyone wanting to try out this popular and exhilarating dance workout before the holiday feasting begins!  Don’t miss the opportunity to try out the hottest fitness trend for free!

      11:00 am – 2:00 pm

      Come and join us at the Upper Greene Lane clubhouse in the Balfour Beatty community for a one stop holiday shopping event featuring Silpada Jewelry, Tastefully Simple, Usborn Books, Athenas Goddess, Pampered Chef, Scentsy, Mary Kay, Tupperware, 31 Gifts, Homecoming Trunk Show, and Etsy shop owners selling their handmade items!     5. Fahrenheit 451 @ mt hope High School
      7:00 pm – 9:30 pm

      Ray Bradbury’s 1951 novel transforms into an onstage drama about a dystopian

      society that exists to burn books in order to discontinue individual thoughts and

      social unrest. Firefighter Guy Montag, whose job it is to burn books, is presented

      with an alternative lifestyle and must choose between the life he knows or a life

      that allows him to read books and have freedom of thought and expression.

      Directed by Carol Schlink.

    6. Three Tall Pines and Acousticana in Concert @ Sandywoods Center for the Arts
      7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      Three Tall Pines is an award-winning quartet that plays bluegrass and Americana from the heart of New England. Opening the show is Acousticana, which plays American roots music on acoustic instruments. BYOB and food allowed.

    7. RWU Theatre Main Season Series II: “Antigone” @ Roger Williams University
      7:30 pm – 8:30 pm

      Robin Stone directs this classic Greek tragedy about Antigone, daughter of the deceased King Oedipus, who defies the new ruler of Thebes by attempting to have a respectable burial of her slain brother, though it may mean her death. This play explores issues of war, law, morality and class struggle. The performance takes place in the Roger Williams University Performing Arts Center, 1 Old Ferry Road, Bristol. Tickets are $10 for general admission; $5 for students and seniors.

    8. A Night of the Blues @ Common Fence Point Community Hall
      8:00 pm – 10:00 pm

      Common Fence Music hosts a bounty of blues, first with a concert set and then an evening of dancing. First up is The Horn of Plenty Blues featuring Paul Geremia, then the dance floor opens up for Toni-Lynn, “the Boston Blues Diva.”

      St. Luke’s Jamaica Missionaries are hosting a Bake Sale

      on Sunday, November 18,, 2012 from 7:30am until 1:00pm.
