Last Wednesday morning, Warren Police received a call that an unidentified man was sitting on a front porch on Child Street, near the site of the proposed housing development at 581 Child St., holding a firearm.

The Warren Police Department confirmed the incident was under active investigation. However, no one has been brought into custody or charged with a crime as of press time.

“On Dec. 6 at 9:25 a.m., the Warren Police Department received a call reporting that a male was on a porch at a residence on Child Street and was in possession of a firearm,” Lt. Christopher Perreault said in an email. “Upon officers arriving in the area of 581 Child Street, they spoke with the complainant(s) who directed officers to a nearby residence where they then located the individual and the firearm. The incident is currently under investigation and will be reviewed for potential charges.”
