A tractor trailer truck smacked into the buidling at 11 Child Street in Warren a little after noon on Tuesday destroying a new business that was due to open in just a couple of weeks.
The big 18 wheeler was heading east, and attempted to make the turn onto Child Street from Main Street. It smashed the windows of the building and took down the overhang. Residents that lived in the apartment buidling above looked on as Warren police and firemen worked the scene.
"I was walking my dog and I just missed it," said Janessa Ponte, who was setting up the rental property for her new business called Fabrications. Ponte, a Warren resident that lives up the street, said that she saw the aftermath and her heart sank.
"My stomach is uneasy," she said as she cleaned up some of the items in the shop after the accident.
Police taped off the scene and allowed residents back into their apartments after the structure was deemed safe to enter by Town Buidling Official, Matt Cabral.
