The Warren Conservation Commission announced that between now and April 20, people should collect as many nip bottles throughout Warren as possible for a chance to win a prize.

The great annual nip bottle cleanup competition begins in Warren
The Warren Conservation Commission is giving local protectors against polyethylene more than a month to collect the biggest non-biodegradable bounty in town, with bragging rights and a gift certificate on the line.
The annual Nip Bottle Litter Challenge tasks local environmental advocates with scouting throughout the town for any and all single-serve nip bottles and collecting them between the publication of this piece and 12 p.m. (noon) on April 20.
“They’re everywhere! Nip bottles blight our streets and shores,” said Jane Harrison of the Conservation Commission. “The Warren Conservation Commission challenges Earth Day Cleanup volunteers to remove nip bottle litter from Warren.”
The top three bottle collectors will be recognized at the Pete Sepe Pavilion, with the first place prize being a gift certificate to Ocean State Job Lot.
The Conservation Commission will also hold its annual Earth Day Celebration Cleanup on April 20 at the Pete Sepe Pavilion, beginning at 9 a.m., with Dunkin coffee and baked good provided to participants who help clean up throughout Warren. T-shirts and cleanup bags will also be provided to volunteers.
The nip bottle winners will be announced at 12 p.m., following by an appreciative hot dog roast.
During last year’s cleanup, volunteers collected nearly 7,000 nip bottle throughout town.
