Rachel Rosemary DeMoranville, 34, of Beach Street, passed away on February 22, 2019 at Kent County Hospital.

Born in Providence, she was the beloved daughter of Rebecca Andrade and Edmund DeMoranville. In addition to her parents she is survived by her son Shaun Bernier Jr., as well as several aunts, uncles and numerous cousins. She is also survived by her amazing group of close friends, her sisters in heart, Kelly Carlson, Christine Reuss and Shawn McKenzie BFAM.

Rachel was a graduate of Mt. Hope High School and was employed as a CNA.

Her funeral services will be Friday, March 1st, 9 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High St., Bristol, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 AM at St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St., Warren. Burial will follow in the North Burial Ground, Bristol.

Calling hours are Thursday 5-8 PM.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
