Norbert Richard Costa, 92, of Metacom Avenue, passed away on April 8, 2018 at Crestwood Nursing Center. He was the husband of Josephine (Goulart) Costa.

Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late Antonio and Maria (Medeiros) Costa. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Cadile and her husband Jerry of Warren; grandchildren Kristen Cadile Borgia and her husband Joseph, Corey Cadile and his fiancée Valerie Gonzalez; and great-grandchildren Allie, Jillian and Hailey Borgia. He was brother of the late Joseph Costa and Daniel Costa.

Mr. Costa was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School and served as a Platoon Sergeant in the US Army during World War II. He then worked for Kaiser Aluminum for 44 years before retiring. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading and taking walks through Bristol. Mr. Costa was a member of both the Bristol and Windmill Hill Golf Clubs as well as the VFW Anthony C. Almeida Post #237 and the American Legion Kearney Post #6.

His funeral services will be held Saturday, April14th, at 8 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High St., Bristol, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will follow in the North Burial Ground, Bristol.

Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Crestwood Nursing Center, 568 Child St., Warren RI 02885 or Kindred Hospice, 2374 Post Road, Suite 206, Warwick RI 02886.
