Knight — Government should be a partner to small business owners

Posted

One of my goals as state representative for District 67 is to make sure that government works well and works for everyone. A common complaint I hear from small business owners is about the hassle and red tape they experience when working with state and local governments. Too often, small businesses encounter poor customer service and administrative log jams. Sometimes, it's hard to even get a simple question answered by a state agency.

There is no good explanation for these obstacles. I pledge to work with the small business community to minimize and eliminate these problems. We must make it easier to work with government.

Government can and should be a partner to our small business owners. It’s time we start removing the obstacles to success instead of putting them up. Their success is our success.

He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
