Dorothy R. “Dottie” (Valante) Jarvais, 85, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020 in the Warren Center. She was the wife of the late John E. Jarvais.

Born in Bristol, a daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Tortorice) Valante, she was a long-time resident of Warren.

She was the owner and operator with her husband of Pizza Kitchen in Barrington and then Warren for many years, and a dedicated caretaker at Edgelea Assisted Living. A true “people person,” she enjoyed socializing and being with others, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Gail Kubik and her husband Bill of Florida, Caroline Oliveira and her husband John of Warren, Judy Rogers and her husband Scott of New York and John Jarvais and his partner Laura Button of Florida; sisters, Florence Rose, Mary Zorra, Viola Vinacco and Shirley Harris; brothers, Manuel Valante and Anthony Valante Jr.; five grandchildren, Jill Colvin, John Oliveira, Stacy Oliveira, Ashley Rogers, and Jarred Jarvais; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Bernard Valante, Julia Costa, John Valante, Emily Lottinville, Johanna Silva, Isabel McKenzie, Lillian Kenna, Ruth Boorom and Helen Francis.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Warren Center for their excellent care and compassion. Contributions in Dottie’s honor may be made to the Warren Center, Activities Department, 642 Metacom Ave., Warren, RI 02885. Due to current restrictions, services will be held in the spring.
