TIVERTON – A Tiverton Police Department Lieutenant, Timothy Panell, was arraigned at 2 p.m. this afternoon in Rhode Island 2nd District Court on 58 counts of obtaining money under false pretenses.
The arresting agency has been identified as the Tiverton Police Department.
The 58 charges are all identical, allegedly for misdemeanors under $1,500.
A pre-trial conference on the matter has been scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 3 in 2nd District Court in Newport.
Lt. Panell pleaded not guilt at the time of arraignment, and is represented by attorney Norman Leo Landroche Jr..
The Police Department has referred requests for comment to Town Administrator Matt Wojcik.
