School Committee and Senate candidates meet in live forum Thursday night

The Warren candidates for the Bristol Warren Regional School Committee, and the candidates for Senate Districts 10 and 11 will debate in forums on Thursday, Oct. 13, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The audience can view these forums live on Zoom at the link below.

The forums will also be available from Oct. 14 until election day, Nov. 8, through the League of Women Voters of RI website, www.lwvri.org. The forum is sponsored by the League and the East Bay Media Group.

The Warren candidates for School Committee are Jarrod Hazard and Kyle Jackson.

The candidates for Senate District 10 are Walter Felag, Jr. and Allyn Meyers.

The candidates for Senate District 11 are Andrew Kelly, Kenneth Mendonca, Mario Teixeira and Linda Ujifusa.

The moderator from East Bay Media Group will choose the questions to ask.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
