Sakonnet — where to vote in Tuesday's primary

Tiverton and Little Compton will host a Primary election Tuesday in the race to fill the First Congressional District seat vacated earlier in the summer by David Cicilline.

There are 14 candidates on the ballot, including 12 Democrats and two Republicans. They include:

• Gabriel Amo (D)

• Stephanie Beaute (D)

• Walter Berbrick (D)

• Sandra C. Cano (D)

• Donald R. Carlson (D)

• Stephen M. Casey (D)

• Spencer Dickinson (D)

• John Goncalves (D)

• Sabina Matos (D)

• Ana Quezada (D)

• J. Aaron Regunberg (D)

• Allen R. Waters (D)

• Terri Flynn (R)

• Gerry W. Leonard Jr. (R)

To register to vote: https://vote.sos.ri.gov/

The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

In Little Compton, vote in the Wilbur McMahon School gymnasium, 28 Commons.

In Tiverton, school is in session so the usual voting locations have changed. If your usual voting place is the Pocasset Elementary School, vote at The VFW at 134 Shove St. If you normally vote at the Fort Barton Elementary School, vote at Tiverton Town Hall, 343 Highland Road. If you normally vote at Tiverton High School, vote at Countryview Estates, 213 Hurst Lane. And if you normally vote at the Ranger Elementary School, vote at Amicable Church, 3736 Main Road.

Early voting began on August 16 and will continue until primary day on Mondays through Fridays. In Little Compton, early voting runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Town Hall council chambers. In Tiverton, early voting will take place in the Town Hall, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
