Letter: Oct. 4 — Last chance to register and vote him out

To the editor:

Thank you to those who step up and run for local office.  You truly are Public Servants.

This Sunday, October 4, is the deadline for Rhode Islanders to register to vote for the upcoming November election.  It is our responsibility to vote.  We can complain, we can protest, we can write letters to the editor, but it is voting that really matters.

Vote.org can get you started.  If you are already registered to vote, you likely have received the mail ballot application.   If you plan to vote by mail, please don’t delay in completing and returning that application, which must be received in Providence by Tuesday, October 13, by 4 pm.

This is it, neighbors, the time is now.  Let’s get it together and vote him out!

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
