To the editor:

I would like to share something pleasant and kind to your weekly column.

On Friday morning (the 13th mind you!), I was shopping at Market Basket.

When I went to the checkout, the lines were long so I just had to wait my turn (I only had a few items and had shopped a few days before).

My checkout clerk was warm and friendly. After she rang up the total and went to present my receipt, I noticed she seemed to be somewhat amazed.

I started to pay for my purchase when she said, with a smile, “That’s okay, a lady just paid for your food!”

I asked if she could describe the lady and she said, “No but she hurried away.”

Everyone was so anxious and stressed but someone took the time to do a kind deed.

Thanks to the lady who was generous and kind.
