Fire fighters from Tiverton and surrounding communities battled a massive fire early Wednesday morning at a King Road auto graveyard.
Crews were called to General Auto Recycling at about 2:30 a.m. and were still on scene at the start of the work day. The main bulk of the fire was extinguished by 4 a.m.
Crews from Portsmouth, Westport and other departments assisted Tiverton fire fighters in a tanker shuttle task force to bring water to the site.
No word yet on a cause for the fire, which involved hundreds of vehicles at the recycling center. Updates will be posted as they become available.
