Controversial Tiverton convenience store plan gets hearing Monday

Posted

The Tiverton Zoning Board will consider three special use permit applications from Seasons Corner Market on Monday, Jan. 22, at 7 p.m. at Tiverton High School.

The meeting is a continuance of a Dec. 6 hearing, when the board heard briefly from audience members as well as a company project manager, who gave a lengthy update on the proposal.

Despite strong community opposition, Colbea Enterprises, LLC, the Cranston-based owner of the retail chain, is moving ahead with a plan to build a convenience store, gas station and drive-through coffee shop on a vacant parcel of land on the corner of Souza and Main roads, in the north end of town.
