A caller reported several people arguing at Benefit and Williams streets.

Rescue crews transferred a woman to the hospital after receiving a call from a woman who said her sister was at risk for Covid-19. She was also weak and not feeling well, the caller said.

Police brought a miniature pinscher to the animal shelter after getting a call about it running loose on Truman Avenue.

A Seymour Street caller said his mother’s house sustained damage, possibly at the hands of a sibling, as a result of a disagreement over the property.

A caller reported a light sedan swerving on Main Street just before 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, March 31

Police advised a Main Street business owner to remove tables and chairs from the sidewalk.

A Martin Street woman told police that someone entered her home through an open window and stole her son’s clothing.

A Metacom Avenue caller reported receiving harassing/threatening phone calls.

Patrons became “unruly” after a food service truck pulled in to the Park N Ride on Franklin Street, a caller told police at 2:05 p.m.

Police dispersed six people after getting a call about a large group of juveniles playing football behind Kickemuit Middle School.

A Beth Avenue woman came in to report a past sexual assault.

Wednesday, April 1

Alex B. Correia, 21, of 385 Metacom Ave., Apt. 2E, was charged with violating a protective order after police logged two calls from a Metacom Avenue address. At 5:04 a.m., a man told police that two men with crowbars were outside his building, yelling for him to come outside. Fourteen minutes later, a woman reported that the men, who had apparently left, were back. One of them was yelling in the hallway, she said.

A caller reported just after 10:30 a.m. that there was a camper van with New York tags coming and going around Joyce and Cole streets. The code enforcement officer responded to the scene with an officer.

A man reported getting into an argument with a woman on Baker Street.

A Libby Lane woman reported that upstairs neighbors were stomping their feet.

Police dispersed a man from Jamiel Park after a caller reported at 8:40 p.m. that a man was driving erratically through the area.

Thursday, April 2

A staff member at Rhode Island Hospital asked police to check on the well-being of a Bay Road man. Police were told that the man, a doctor at RIH, had gone home sick on Monday, and nobody had heard from him since. Police looked into it and learned that he had been transported to St. Anne’s Hospital on Tuesday, March 31st.

Friday, April 3

A Child Street resident told police that someone smashed his car windows.

A Main Street apartment was reported broken into and vandalized.

A caller reported a woman walking aimlessly on Main Street just after 3 p.m. Police checked it out; she was headed for the bus stop.

A Child Street woman spoke to police in hopes of tracking down a woman whose prescription medicine was accidentally delivered to her mailbox.

A Scott Court resident complained that a neighbor might be illegally renting out a pool house on the property.

Saturday, April 4

The DPW director was notified after a large amount of trash was spotted in the roadway near Cutler and Child streets.

A Laurel Lane man reported a stolen firearm.

A Main Street resident reported a treed raccoon that appeared aggressive. Police noted it didn’t look sick, and was high up in the tree.

Susan M. Ashook, 60, of 390 Metacom Ave., first floor, was charged with domestic simple assault/battery, domestic disorderly conduct and domestic vandalism/malicious injury to property, after a caller reported that his downstairs neighbors were fighting.

Sunday, April 5

A Metacom Avenue man asked to speak to an officer about a faulty lawnmower he’d purchased. Police told him it was a civil matter.

A caller reported a large group of kids playing basketball at Burr’s Hill. Police dispersed a “small group” of them.

A caller reported a possible large gathering or party on Lyndon Street. Police checked it out and found nothing amiss.

A drive-through employee on Metacom Avenue told police a customer who’d just driven through had open containers in the car.

Police dispersed about 10 people after getting a call about a large party on Frances Street.

A caller reported that two men looked to be ready to come to blows at Child Street and Metacom Avenue. Police checked out the 9:58 p.m. but couldn’t locate the men.

Two juveniles, 17 and 15, were charged with felony assault with a dangerous weapon or substance, and disorderly conduct, after police got a call from Martin Street just after 10:30 p.m. The caller reported a physical altercation and that one of those involved might have a weapon.

Monday, April 6

A Sowamsett Avenue man complained just before 3 a.m. about a neighbor’s loud music.

Rescue crews responded to Canario Drive for a resident experiencing Covid-19 symptoms.

A caller from Market Street told police that a group of juveniles were not adhering to social distancing requirements.

Police dispersed several juveniles playing basketball at Burr’s Hill, after getting a call.
