Political platform statement

Why I am running for this office: During this pandemic, District 10 deserves a state Senator with a demonstrated ability to lead as well as listen. If re-elected, my priorities will continue to be providing prompt constituent services, improving our business climate, and increasing social safety nets for seniors and the disabled. The primary question of this election is, “Who is best suited to help our community?” Professionally, I am employed as a Senior System Engineer for SEA CORP. As a small business owner (Feminine Fancies), my wife Elaine and I have felt COVID’s impact firsthand. Small businesses are struggling to stay open, secure loan assistance, and understand public health regulations. While helping local employers and employees with these challenges, I am committed to maintaining a long-term vision for economic growth centered on reducing taxes, job training and investing in education and infrastructure. COVID-19 has been particularly hard on our elderly and veterans in congregate care settings. Earlier this summer, the Senate passed new staffing regulations for our nursing homes to increase patient care. I have been successful in cutting income taxes on Social Security and creating a state grant program to reimburse seniors for home modifications. For these efforts, the national and RI AARP named me a “Capitol Caregiver” in 2018 and 2019. I will always fight for our Veterans and honor them. The East Bay holds a special place in my heart. Elaine and I raised our family here and we hope to retire here. With your vote, I will continue to be an accessible advocate for the district and work tirelessly to improve the quality of life for all residents.
