Tiverton's Cookinham, Murray named Heisman finalists
The Wendy’s High School Heisman Program has named Samantha Cookinham and Timothy Murray of Tiverton High School as Rhode Island finalists as best student-athletes.
Cookinham plays field hockey and lacrosse, while Murray has played basketball, baseball, soccer and golf.
Each state finalist will receive a bronze medal, a Wendy’s High School Heisman State Finalist patch and a $25 Wendy’s gift card. The state finalists will continue on to the next round where only one male and one female student will advance to be named state winners on November 9.
Cookinham and Murray were selected as 2015 finalists due to their success in both sports and academics.
The Wendy’s High School Heisman Program has recognized exceptional student athletes for more than two decades.
