The Tiverton girls basketball team ran into a strong East Providence squad Friday losing on the Townies’ court by a score of 44-24. The Tigers couldn’t find the net in the first half, managing only 5 points and falling behind 22-5

Tiger girls fall to East Providence

The Tiverton girls basketball team ran into a strong East Providence squad Friday losing on the Townies’ court by a score of 44-24. The Tigers couldn’t find the net in the first half, managing only 5 points and falling behind 22-5

Things were more even in the second half but by then it was too late.

Ireland McGreavy scored 11 of Tiverton’s 24 points. Also scoring or Tiverton were Rachel Pare and Jordan Murphy with 3 apiece; Amber Silva, Haley Mendoza and Lauren Gamache with 2 each; and Katie Phillips with 1 point.

Angela Leonardo led the way for East Providence with 15 points.

The loss left Tiverton with a record of 3-8 in Division II; 3-9 overall.

East Providence improved ti 7-4 in division; 10-4 overall.
