Why I am running for this office: To learn more about me, view my website at www.susan-donovan.com. I’m running for State Representative again to continue the work of building stronger and more resilient communities. Much remains to be done. Please know that I will always prioritize the interests of our communities by: •Supporting legislation to invest in education, increase the minimum wage and implement pay equity to help every child and working family. •Continuing the work to make RI a more business friendly state. •Making sure our seniors, veterans and people with disabilities have a voice so they can access needed support and services and stay in their homes. •Protecting our coastlines, waters and other natural resources that are so important to our economy and quality of life •Continuing the work to strengthen our gun safety laws •Investing in infrastructure projects •Rebuilding trust in government by supporting rules reform in the House of Representatives and passing the Line Item Veto. Although there are those in our community using divisive politics to sow conflict among us, I know that there are more issues that bring us together rather than divide us. It is my hope that all of us appreciate and are willing to celebrate the richness diversity brings to our community; that we continue to respect each other and our public safety officers and value the work they do to keep us safe.
