Police: Man fled following a pursuit and may be armed

Posted

Massachusetts State Police are searching for a possibly armed man who fled a pursuit in Westport Wednesday morning, and according to some reports may have fired shots near Sanford Road and attempted to burn down a house.

At noon, police had set up a command post at Holiday Lanes and were searching for the man near routes 195 and 88. The truck is described as a white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.

Troopers said in a Twitter post that if they see the suspect truck, they should not approach but call 911 instead.

This story is evolving and will be updated as more information becomes available.
