PBA's ‘Summer’s End’ 5K in Portsmouth on Saturday
Raises money for scholarships for 2 PHS seniors
PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth Business Association (PBA) will host its fourth annual Summer’s End PBA 5K, with Peoples Credit Union as lead sponsor, this Saturday, Sept. 17.
The race begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Common Fence Point Community Center, 933 Anthony Road.
The 5K is a run-or-walk event and raises money for the PBA’s annual scholarships that are awarded annually to two qualifying Portsmouth High School seniors.
This is a mostly flat 5K course with scenic water views. Leashed pets and baby strollers are welcome.
Registration is $25 online at www.portsmouthbiz.com or $30 on race day. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.
Medals and trophies will be awarded to age division winners and every participant is entered in a free raffle drawing for duffle bags, backpacks and a grand prize runners package valued at over $175.
The first 100 registered participants are guaranteed to receive a Sport-Tek running shirt.
