Little Compton

Political platform statement

Why I am running for this office: Little Compton has been my home for my entire life. My wife Jennifer and I raised two sons here, and I have served as coach for numerous sports teams, as Chair of the Recreation Committee, and as Chair of the School Committee. I graduated from Bishop Stang High School and from Rhode Island College, and I am now a self-employed business owner. I am proud to have been Chair of the Recreation Committee when we upgraded and expanded the Town’s recreation facilities. I would bring to the Town Council a deep love for this town and an understanding of how to get things done to make it an even better place to live and raise a family.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
