Letter: Yes, I’m anti-fascist … Who isn’t anti-fascist?

Posted

I’m writing in response to Steve Annarummo’s letter in last week’s Phoenix where he called me out as a known supporter of Antifa and BLM. I posted a picture to Facebook of Wonder Woman with the word Antifa over it because I’m a fan of Wonder Woman and proudly anti-fascist.

That’s what he is using to support his claim that I am a known supporter of Antifa. Traditionally, all Americans were anti-fascist. Our heroes were anti-fascist. Wonder Woman and Captain America were anti-fascist. Indiana Jones was anti-fascist.

My personal hero, my grandfather, fought in Europe during World War II, so I guess that makes him anti-fascist, too. Being anti-fascist does not mean that I am a member or a supporter of some shadowy terrorist organization. However, I want to thank Mr. Annarummo and the Bristol Phoenix for the opportunity to clarify my position on this issue.
