Letter: Perplexed by Barrington School Committee’s decision

Posted

To the editor:

I grew up in Barrington, attended public schools in town, graduated from Barrington High School in 1974 and did my student teaching at Nayatt in the fall of 1978. When I read that the Barrington School Committee was considering doing away with the neighborhood schools concept I was not only sad about this, but also a little bit perplexed. Isn't Nayatt School recognized as the best public elementary school in the state of Rhode Island? Aren't all Barrington schools viewed as being top notch? Why fix something that isn't broken?
