To the editor:
Dear taxpayers, a quick internet search revealed that the recently hired and now departing Superintendent of Schools, Javier Montañez, for Providence was making $200,000 per annum. It also stated that Providence has approximately 20,000 students.
Therefore, using those data points, a benchmark or metric concludes that a School Superintendent's role is worth about $10/per student.
A similar search result for Barrington states there are about 3,500 students in Barrington. The same search indicates our Superintendent earns $265,000 with an additional car allowance.
I'm sure someone will "school" me as to how this makes sense or cents!
