Late goal by EG ends Barrington’s field hockey season
Eagles unable to overcome late-game deficit
The Barrington High School field hockey team was locked in a scoreless battle with East Greenwich for almost the entire Division I semifinal game recently at Cranston Stadium.
But with less than two minutes remaining, Avengers forward Juliette Saccoccio slid a shot past Barrington goalie Ella Mejia. The Eagles were unable to tie the game through the end of regulation.
Barrington finished the season with a 9-6 record.
