PORTSMOUTH — It was a four-way “tie” between an eighth-grader, two seventh-graders and a second-grader at Saturday’s Glow Run.
The problem was, there was a gift card available for one of them.
No problem, said the older boys — Parker West, Charlie Townsend and Ramsey Huggins. They promptly voted to give the card to the little guy, Hugo Lyman.
The event, in which dozens of youngsters participated, was a fund-raiser for the Portsmouth Public Education Foundation (PPEF) at the Gardner Seveney Complex at Glen Farm.
The family-friendly run at dusk replaced PPEF’s Color Run of past years. Racers received a glow-in-the-dark shirt as well as “glowing gear.”
Also on hand were the Flat Waves food truck, Hawaiian Jim's Shaved Ice and a deejay.
The school with the most participants received a $300 grant for its end-of-year celebrations.
