The Barrington High School girls cross country team placed three runners in the top-20 spots at the Woods Trail Run in Thetford, Vermont on Saturday and finished in third place as a team. 

Carly Gill finished fifth overall with a time of 19:46.9, while Evelyn Lefort powered to a 12th place finish with a time of 20:14.6, and Sarah Clegg finished 17th with a time of 21:04.7. 

Nineteen runners competed for Barrington — there were 334 total runners on the challenging course at the same time. 

Other Barrington runners to finish in the top-100 were Elizabeth Van Hull, who finished 32nd overall with a time of 21:38.9; Charlotte Ford, who was 50th with a time of 22:31.5; Scarlette Wasinowicz, who finished 57th with a time of 22:58.3; Elsa Mello, who was 81st with a time of 23:48.3; and Estelle Mentzer, who finished in 95th with a time of 24:15.5.

Dual meet dominant

Barrington continued to dominate the competition in regular season dual meets. On Wednesday, Sept. 30, Barrington defeated Mt. Hope and Moses Brown. The Eagles were led by Gill, Lefort and Clegg.

On Monday, Oct. 5, Barrington powered past Portsmouth and Pawtucket, each by a score of 15-50. 

The Barrington girls took the first five places with Lefort winning in 19:43, followed by Gill (19:44), Clegg (20:39), Van Hull (21:07) and Ford (21:23).
