A Barrington resident filed a complaint with police recently, alleging a contractor failed to complete renovation work after being paid nearly $3,000.
The resident said Justin Walsh McCarthy, 36, of Griswold, Conn., was paid $2,775 to complete a bathroom renovation to a Boyce Avenue home, but he never did the work.
Barrington police issued a warrant for Mr. McCarthy and Warwick police picked up the suspect during a traffic stop in that community. On Thursday, March 12, Barrington police charged Mr. McCarthy with obtaining money under false pretenses-over $500.
