Barrington High School students will dismiss all students at 11 a.m., following an incident that occurred earlier this morning.
BHS Principal Chris Ashley shared an announcement at about 10:45 a.m.: “Barrington Police have determined that the high school is safe and secure. There is no active threat and the lockdown has been lifted. In the best interest of our students’ well-being, we will be ending the school day early. Dismissal will begin at 11 a.m.”
The statement said transportation would be provided, but also invited families to pick up their students. All Advanced Placement exams scheduled for Friday will be rescheduled, according to the statement.
“Out of an abundance of precaution, we will also be maintaining a police presence at all district schools today.”
