Alleged assaults, DWIs top Portsmouth police report

PORTSMOUTH — Here are some highlights from the Portsmouth Police reports from over the past two weeks.

Thursday, Aug. 15

Khoury J. Fernandes, 23, of 86 Forge Road, Westport, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after being pulled over for a traffic violation on Route 24 North at Freeborn Street at about 1:20 a.m. The driver was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test, according to police. 

Jaice D. Fowler, 26, of 10 Reardon Drive, Middletown, was arrested by Middletown Police around 5:30 p.m. on a Portsmouth warrant charging him with domestic assault.

Joshua R. Haywood, 33, of 286 East Road, Tiverton, was arrested shortly before 6 p.m. by Tiverton Police on a Portsmouth warrant charging him with obtaining money (under $1,500) under false pretense/personation.

Saturday, Aug. 17

Eduardo Calderon, 65, of 160 Broad St., Providence, was charged with disorderly conduct (exposing his genitals) after police responded to the area of East Main Road and Sprague Street at about 10:15 a.m. to investigate a report of suspicious activity.

Ronald S. Worth, 58, of 133 Cedar Ave., was arrested at his home shortly before 7:30 p.m. on a warrant charing him with domestic assault.

Sunday, Aug. 18

Bryan J. Leary, 28, of 63 Clear View Ave., was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after police pulled him over for a suspected DWI on East Main Road and Sandy Point Avenue around 4 p.m. Mr. Leary was also cited for refusing a chemical test.

Monday, Aug. 19

Adrian R. Burke, 50, of 25 Edwin St., Barrington, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense), assault and resisting arrest after being pulled over for a traffic violation on West Main Road at Melville School around 12:25 a.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 21

Kristen E. Palmer, 36, of 5 Carol Terrace, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) at about 7 p.m. Police said they stopped her car on Route 24 North at Turnpike Avenue after receiving a request to check the condition of the operator. The driver was also cited for refusing a chemical test, according to police. 

Monday, Aug. 26

Elizabeth K. Janick, 24, of 374 Judson St., Tiverton, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense), after being stopped for a traffic violation on Route 24 North at Boyds Lane around 1:10 a.m.
