PORTSMOUTH — Two Portsmouth ice skaters will share the spotlight with one of the sport’s biggest names this weekend when they perform in a major New England ice show headlined by Olympic gold medalist and world champion Alysa Liu.

Siblings Cole and Mia Rocco, both 18, are set to perform in “Ice Chips: A World Journey,” the annual benefit show hosted by The Skating Club of Boston. The event takes place Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 28 and March 1, at the Tenley E. Albright Performance Center in Norwood, Mass.

The Roccos are part of a cast featuring local, national and international competitors, giving the hometown pair a high-profile stage alongside some of the sport’s top medalists.

This year’s show is headlined by Liu, who will be making her first U.S. appearance after winning the gold medal in figure skating at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, on Thursday. She’s the current world champion, 2025 Skate America champion, and two-time U.S. national champion, who first won the national title at age 13.

Ice Chips 2026: A World Journey will be presented three times: Saturday, Feb. 28, at 1 and 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 1, at 1 p.m. The annual show serves as a benefit for the Skating Club of Boston and traditionally features a mix of elite athletes and rising regional talent.

Senior-level performers scheduled to appear include Olympians, U.S. medalists, international champions, and championship synchronized skating teams.

Tickets and event information are available at icechips.org.
