Portsmouth Police arrest driver on drug charges

PORTSMOUTH — A local man was arrested on drug charges on Wednesday, Aug. 26, after beimg pulled over on Sprague Street at Maniton Drive.

Rahseem Jones, 41, of 4 North Drive, was charged with manufacturing/possessing/delivering a controlled substance at about 7:25 p.m., police said.

There had also been an active warrant out for his arrest, according to police.

Here are some other recent highlights from the Portsmouth Police reports.

Tuesday, Aug. 25

Lareen M Abdallah, 24, of 400 Metacom Ave., Apt. 211, Bristol, was charged with driving without an active license (first offense) after being pulled over for a traffic violation on West Main Road at the Mobil Xtra Mart around 5:15 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 26

Alisa F. Martinelli, 25, of 231 Maple Ave., Newport, was charged with disorderly conduct (obstructing a street) and driving without an active license (her third offense). Police stopped her vehicle for a traffic violation on Route 24 South at Sunny Acres shortly before 12:30 a.m.

Ian D. Stone, 43, of 1 Mill St., Tiverton, was charged with violating a no-contact order (his third offense), after vehicle in which he was riding was pulled over for a traffic violation on East Main Road at Martens Road shortly before 11 a.m.

Jason M. Cerrito, 34, of 726 West Shore Road, Apt. 1, Warwick, was charged with violating a no-contact order after the vehicle in which he was riding was pulled over for a traffic violation on Route 24 North at Boyds Lane around 6 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 28

Lea Serena, 30, of 816 Pearl St., Brockton, Mass., was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after being pulled over for a traffic violation on West Main Road at Locust Avenue around 1:45 a.m. Police also cited hr for refusing a chemical test.

Sunday, Aug. 30

Myles Ross, 22, of 34 Stafford Heights Road, Fall River, was charged with driving without an active license (third offense), after being stopped for a traffic violation on Route 24 North on the Sakonnet River Bridge around 2 a.m.
