PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth Patriots are guaranteed a No. 1 or No. 2 seed in the playoffs thanks to a 21-7 win over the visiting Barrington Eagles Friday night.

Portsmouth, which remains in first place in Division II-B with a 4-1 record, clinched not only a playoff spot with its third straight win, but a home game in the quarterfinals. 

Freshman quarterback Adam Conheeny, sharing QB duties with Tom Hurd and Carson Conheeny, a ran for three touchdowns.

Barrington’s Alexander McClelland scored a touchdown on a quarterback sneak.

The Patriots will next face Cranston East at Cranston Stadium on Friday, Oct. 28. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m.

Barrington (2-3 in the division, 3-4 overall) will host Woonsocket at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28.
