Lucy Johnson, 91, of Portsmouth, R.I., passed away peacefully at Newport Hospital on Dec. 15, 2018.
Lucy was born in 1927 in Ossining, N.Y. and was the daughter of the late Andrea Mastrorilli and the late Agatha Marzola.
She was predeceased by six siblings and her husband, Harry G. Johnson in 2012, to whom she was married for 56 years. Together they had two children and two beautiful grandchildren. Lucy’s grandchildren were the light of her life.
She was an Avon lady for over 50 years, enjoying the many friendships she made along the way.
She enjoyed playing bingo, slots and the thrill of the lottery. Lucy loved to work in her flower gardens and took much pride in her yard and home. She also liked to cheer on her favorite Red Sox and Patriot teams.
Lucy is survived by her loving children, Mark Johnson and his wife Joyce, of Concord, N.H.; and Sherri Johnson of Portsmouth. She was the proud grandmother to Nicholas and Hollie and also was cherished by her many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Newport Hospital, Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice, and Hope Hospice & Palliative Care RI for their wonderful care.
At Lucy’s request, funeral services will be private.
