PORTSMOUTH — Due to inclement weather forecasted for Saturday, the Portsmouth Tree Commission is moving its annual Tree Seedling Give-a-Way to Sunday, March 24, from 9 to 11 a.m. (or until supplies last).
The event will be held in the south parking lot at the Portsmouth Town Hall, 2200 East Main Road.
The tree seedlings are free with a limit of three per household. The only request is that they be planted within Portsmouth.
The following tree species will be available:
• Witch Hazel (15 to 25 feet tall at maturity)
• Washington Hawthorn (25 to 30 feet tall at maturity)
• River Birch (30 to 40 feet tall at maturity)
• Eastern Red Cedar (40 to 50 feet tall at maturity)
