PORTSMOUTH — Voters will have plenty of choices when they head to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
This year features a crowded Town Council race, with 15 candidates vying for seven seats. See how they stand on the issues here and here.
For School Committee, five candidates are running for four available seats. Read about their personal goals if elected here.
The council and school board races are both for two-year terms.

Three local General Assembly seats are up for grabs this year. The District 11 Senate race pits incumbent James A Seveney, a Democrat, against Stephanie L. Calise, a Republican.
In the District 72 House race, incumbent Republican Kenneth J. Mendonça is being challenged by a Democrat, Terri-Denise Cortvriend, the chairwoman of the Portsmouth School Committee.
Running for the District 69 House seat are incumbent Susan Donovan, a Democrat, and Douglas Gablinske, an Independent.
Rep. Dennis M. Canario, an incumbent Democrat, is running unopposed for the House District 71 seat. Another incumbent running unopposed is Rep. John Edwards for District 70.
In one of the two Congressional races, incumbent U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, a Democrat, is being challenged by Republican Robert G. Flanders, Jr., for a six-year term.
U.S. Rep. David N. Cicilline, the incumbent Democrat, faces Republican Patrick J. Donovan, in the House District 1 race for a two-year term.
The polls will be open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6. In accordance with Rhode Island laws, poll workers will ask you to show a photo ID when you vote at your polling site.
This year, voters who normally cast ballots at the Common Fence Point Community Hall will instead go to the Roger Williams University BayPoint Inn, due to construction going on at the hall.
Here are the polling locations, by precinct number:
• 2701: Hope Brown Center at Farnham Farm, Prudence Island
• 2702: Portsmouth Multi-Purpose Senior Center, 110 Bristol Ferry Road
• 2703: Roger Williams University BayPoint Inn, 144 Anthony Road (northwest entrance)
• 2704: Portsmouth High School (old gymnasium), 120 Education Lane (use door No. 8)
• 2705: Melville School cafeteria, 1351 West Main Road
• 2706: Portsmouth Town Council Chambers, Town Hall, 2200 East Main Road
• 2707: St. Barnabas Church Parish Hall, 1697 East Main Road
• 2708: Portsmouth Middle School gymnasium, 125 Jepson Lane
