Christopher Clement, 49, of Portsmouth, R.I., died suddenly on June 5, 2018.

He is survived by his son Cody Sylvia of Dartmouth; one brother, Phillip Clement, and many friends. He is also survived by Allison Manuel of Middletown and their children, Dylan Clement of Middletown, Amelia Clement of Middletown, Taylor Cory of Middletown, Todd Phipps of Tiverton, Chloe Phipps and grandson Chase Goodwin (aka Little Buddy) of Portsmouth, Chris is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins by whom he will be sorely missed.

Chris was a commercial fisherman and lobsterman on the Nathaniel Lee, Sakonnet Lobster and Kismet. He was also a self-employed auto mechanic and had worked for B&D Auto, Olivera’s Garage and Rays Towing.

He was born in Fall River on May 2, 1969 but moved to Island Park at an early age and became a lifelong Portsmouth resident who loved recreational clamming at “the pits” in Island Park with his friends and then continued to enjoy the pits with his children. He also enjoyed riding dirt bikes. Chris really enjoyed being out on the water and spending time with his kids and grandson.

Chris will be joining his beloved parents Maureen and Phillip Clement Sr., in eternal rest.

Family and friends will be planning a celebration of life for Chris with details to come soon.
