Alfred J. Archambault, Waxahachie, Texas

Alfred James “Fredie, A.J.” Archambault of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away, Thursday December 15, 2016 at Baylor Hospital in Waxahachie. Memorial service will be held on Monday, December 26, 2016 at 10 a.m. in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home located in Waxahachie. Final resting place will be R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 301 South County Trail, in Exeter, Rhode Island in the Spring of 2017.

Alfred James Archambault, was born in Falls River, Massachusetts, on January 8, 1945, the son of Albert Archambault and Filominia (Golart) Capirichio. Alfred “Fredie” was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a retired engineer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Archambault and Filominia Capirichio.

Alfred is survived by two sons, Shawn Archambault and his wife Janet of Tomball, Texas, and James A. Archambault and his wife Suzy of Richmond, Texas; two brothers, David Archambault of Rhode Island, and Mchael Archambault of Maine; and two sisters, Loretta Post of Rhode Island, and Elaine Ferreira and her husband James of Rhode Island. Alfred is also survived by his companion of 20 years, Jenny Croy; six grandchildren and one great grandson.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
