EAST PROVIDENCE — The East Providence High School Townie Marching Band was nominated by Senator Sheldon Whitehouse to perform in the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington D.C. this May.

Every member of the marching band who is able to attend will make the trip no matter what their financial status.

A band parent with a relative who works for the New England Patriots made arrangements for a football signed by Tom Brady along with a certificate of authenticity to be raffled off as a fundraiser.

Also members of the community donated a pair of Red Sox tickets and a pair of Boston Bruins tickets to add to the raffle.

The cost is $10 per ticket and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the band to help pay for this trip. The drawing will be held during the Collaboration Concert with the high school and 8th grade band/chorus students on March 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the EPHS Arthur Elmasian Auditorium.

You do not need to be present to win. Anyone interested in buying a ticket can email masilva@epschoolsri.com or find a Townie band member.
