Westport plans road re-paving for fall, spring

The town has selected nearly four miles of  road to be re-paved this fall and winter, under the Chapter 90 street program. They include:

Charlotte White Road, from Drift to Main, approximately 3,300 feet.

Main Road, from 200 feet north of Charlotte White Road to 472 Main Road, approximately 2,400 feet.

Hix Bridge Road, from Route 88 to Main Road, including the intersection, approximately 1,700 feet.

Tickle Road, from Route 177 to Briggs Road near Kim Drive, including the intersection, approximately 9,300 feet

Briggs Road, from Tickle Road near KIm Drive to 398 Briggs Road, approximately 2,300 feet.

Work is schedule for late fall and early Spring, Westport Town Manager James Hartnett wrote in his monthly report to the Select Board.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
