Misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge follows dog incident in late August

Posted

Little Compton Town Council member Andrew Iriarte-Moore pled not guilty last Friday to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct filed by Little Compton police on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Iriarte-Moore appeared at Second Division District Court in Newport and bond was set at $1,000 personal recognizance. After pleading not guilty and waiving a jury trial, a pre-trial conference was scheduled for early December.

Iriarte-Moore, 30, was involved in an incident in late August after he called the police to report seeing a neighbor walking with dogs off-leash near his home on Watson Way. His husband, Raul Iriarte-Moore, 36, was also charged with disorderly conduct and an additional charge of simple assault. Karen Zarriello, 66, of Patchet Brook Road, was charged with having animals at large. It was the third time Zarriello has been charged with having her dogs off-leash.

Iriarte-Moore declined to comment on the plea, but shortly after the incident said the charges filed against him and his husband were “unwarranted.”
