Westport’s Saturday Town Meeting, planned for out back behind the high school like last year’s has been moved back into the high school auditorium Town Moderator Steven Fors announced late Thursday.

“Essential points are,” the moderator said:

• With the loosening of state COVID restrictions effective May 29, Selectmen have decided to hold the meeting originally scheduled for outdoors indoors instead. Same date and time, June 5 at 9 am.

• The auditorium will be sectioned off to try to accommodate attendees with different levels of COVID risk/concern.

For the vaccinated, a section in which an empty chair between parties is suggested.

For those unvaccinated or wanting more precautions, a section with masks required, alternating rows blocked off, and two empty seats between parties will be provided.

For those with highest levels of concern/risk, a section with masks required and 12 feet of distancing will be available.

“Out of courtesy to those with higher risk/concern, we ask all attendees to wear masks and maintain social distance while entering and in line to check in.
