Warren's Dog Days are here as dog park opens

It's hard to say who was more excited for the grand opening of Warren's new dog park Saturday — the dozens of pet owners who came out to celebrate, or the pets themselves.

All manner of dogs large and small got a chance to interact with their friends when town officials celebrated the opening of the new Franklin Street park Saturday afternoon. There was a blessing of the animals, music, food and drinks — and treats for the dogs too.

Warren has spent more than a year working on the park, which lies adjacent to the East Bay Bike Path near the Park N Ride. Though most of the work is done, additional work, including lighting, will be done in the coming months. Town officials are selling space on bricks, benches, trees and fence signs, to defray the park's costs. For more information on reserving any of the above, contact Warren Recreation Director Tara Thibaudeau at warrenrecreation@gmail.com.

He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
